Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology at the University of Konstanz offer one of three applied subjects for the diploma and the master program (regulations for examinations and study).
The advantages and attractiveness of Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology at the University of Konstanz are mainly determined by the following unique training and research opportunities:

• The university operates a research ward at the centre for psychiatry reichenau (ZPR).
  Treatment programs aim at reducing the suffering of younger schizophrenic patients and their relatives.
  Research in this area concerns the investigation of cortical (event-related potential, spontaneous EEG and MEG) correlates of cognitive and behavioural functions in schizophrenia (see also research projects).


• The psychophysiological laboratories: high-resolution electro- and magnetoencephalography.


• The link to neuropsychology and behavioural neuroscience.
  Research in this area concerns the investigation of functional cortical organisation and reorganisation and its role for the recovery, substitutional and rehabilitation processes in neurological patients (suffering from, e.g., aphasia, tinnitus and focal hand dystonia).


• Research and treatment of traumatic stress disorders and evaluation of narrative exposure therapy (NET) for survivors of torture and war.
  
  

The University of Konstanz and the Neurological Rehabilitation Centre Clinic Schmieder founded the Lurija-Institute for Rehabilitation and Health Science Research in order to support training and cooperative research.
